R.I.P. Poly Styrene

Some sad news. X-Ray Spex lead singer Poly Styrene died at the age of 53. She was one of the great punk music frontwoman and the song Oh Bondage Up Yours! is one of my favorite punk songs. It is sad to see her go...

R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor

Some more sad news....yesterday Elizabeth Taylor died at the age of 79. She was one of the great screen legends of the 50s and 60s and I'm sad to see her go. My favorite role of hers has to be in the 1963 film Cleopatra when she played the famous Egyptian queen. That film showcased her great beauty along with her acting talents.

RIP Michael Gough

Some sad news...Yesterday, the great English actor Michael Gough died at the age of 94. He is best known as Alfred Pennyworth in the Batman films, and is the only Alfred in my eyes. He was also great in films like Sleepy Hollow and in Hammer horror films like Horror of Dracula.

R.I.P. Irvin Kershner

Some sad news in the Star Wars universe today. Irvin Kershner has died at the age of 87 after a long illness.  Kershner directed Empire Strikes Back, my personal favorite of the Star Wars trilogy and one of  the best movies ever made. This movie features the first appearances of legendary characters Yoda and Lando Calrissian, and features one of cinemas most famous lines "No! I am your father!" In his honor, I'm going to have to watch Empire tonight for the millionth time...
