Okay, this movie needs to come out right now! I really don't want to wait until June! This is probably my most anticipated film for 2012. I want to see this more than I want to see The Hunger Games, The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Amazing Spider-Man combined! This movie just looks 'effin amazing! Not only is it related to Ridley Scott's Alien universe, but it also has the most amazing cast. It is filled with actors that I love including Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce. I am even more excited after watching Guy Pearce's little video as his character Peter Weyland.
Well he is correct when he says that cyborgs will look just like humans, because one of them is a blonde Michael Fassbender. I am eagerly anticipating the scene when he is revealed as a robot by having white liquid squirt out of him. Now that I wrote that, that sounds really perverted...but I was refering to the liquid that cyborgs have instead of blood...haha. Anyways...every time that the trailer plays when I am at the movies I get really excited!
This movie is just going to be epic! Not only that but I guess it is supposed to be pretty scary as well, which is fantastic! What I want now is a trailer that has more story to it! Every new trailer that this movie has looks exactly like the previous ones, and I want one with some dialogue in it! The international trailer didn't even have the movie's title! (But it is a really cool trailer.)
I love the movie Oldboy. I actually wrote a paper on the tongue cutting scene for one of my film classes and it is one of my all-time favorite foreign film. So, I should be completely annoyed by an American remake right? Well, interestingly enough...wrong! I am actually really looking forward to this movie. For starters, I love the casting of Josh Brolin as the lead.
I think that he will be great as a man seeking revenge on the man who kept him captive for fifteen years. The casting decision that I am really excited for, however, is Mia Wasikowska!
I was looking at the IMDb page for this movie earlier and when I saw Mia Wasikowska (rumored) I got so excited! With both Brolin and Wasikowska you just know that this movie will be good. She is only rumored for a role so far, but who would be better as a young girl who becomes somewhat of a love interest for him...that is until he finds out that she is (SPOILER ALERT) his daughter and that they have been tricked into being together by the man who held him captive.
This movie will be great as long as they don't change the story. I know that Hollywood likes to change brilliant stories to make them more "acceptable" for mainstream audiences. The worst that I have seen is the American remake of The Vanishing. In the original, the film ends with the main character waking up in a coffin after he has been buried alive. In the remake, he gets out of the coffin and kills the bad guy. I couldn't believe it! I love the original The Vanishing, so I literally felt betrayed when I was watching the remake on TV one day. That is something that I really hope doesn't happen with Oldboy. Since the film is being directed by Spike Lee, who is an independent filmmaker, I don't think that the story will change too much. Or at least I hope not.
I'm going to this this three months at a time because my list always gets too long and I end up forgetting some. So... here are the movies I plan to see in January, February, and March of 2012.
JANUARY
The Devil Inside
Its been a while since I've seen a movie in theaters that actually scared me, and I'm hoping that The Devil Inside will do just that. Although I'm getting sick of all these exorcism movies, this movie does look pretty freaky. The first time I saw the trailer it did give me a bit of a fright. Of course, so did the trailer for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and that movie was kind of shitty.
Underworld: Awakening
I still haven't seen Underworld: Evolution all the way through, but I have until January to watch it. This movie actually looks pretty cool. I'm loving the little werewolf/ vampire hybrid girl, and Kate Beckinsale looks awesome as always in her black leather suit.
Haywire
This really isn't my type of movie at all. I think that the plot of this movie is something that has been done a million times before and it doesn't really look all that interesting to me. Why do I want to see it then? Well for starters it has Ewan McGregor and Channing Tatum...definitely some eye candy. And oh yeah...MICHAEL FASSBENDER. If that handsome Irish actor is in a movie, you know my ass is going to be in those theater seats.
We Need to Talk About Kevin
This is a book that I was planning to read because I heard that it was both really good and really disturbing. Now I guess I don't have to because I can go see this movie.(And all the literary snobs cry...) From what I have read about the plo,t the trailers that I have seen haven't really given too much away about what this movie is really about. I guess it is about parents dealing with the fact that their teenage son shot up his high school.
Albert Nobbs
I saw the trailer for this movie when I went to see Like Crazy and thought that it looked really interesting. Glenn Close plays a woman who pretends to be a man called Albert Nobbs.
FEBRUARY
The Woman in Black
I love me a good ghost story! This movie looks really cool and the fact that it is produced by Hammer makes it that much better.
W.E.
What make this movie neat is that it is directed by Madonna. This story is about Edward VIII and how he gives up the throne for the woman he loves. We got a hint of this story in The King's Speech, though that movie focuses on his brother. I am curious to learn more about Edwards story with this movie, because in The King's Speech I really didn't care so much for his character. Plus, maybe seeing Abbie Cornish and Oscar Isaac in this will make me forgive them for Sucker Punch.
This Means War
Totally going to see this just because it has Tom Hardy. He always plays such super serious characters, so it'll be nice to see him to a comedy. Also, I love Chelsea Handler, so it'll be cool to see her in this as well.
MARCH
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
There is not a poster or a trailer for this movie yet, but with a title like that, how could you not want to see it?
The Raven
I have never read anything by Edgar Allen Poe, with the exception of a few poems (including The Raven) but that is something that I plan to fix in the future. This movie stars John Cusack as the famous writer, and is about a series of murders that are inspired by his novels.
Mirror Mirror
I'm actually still debating whether or not I really want to see this movie because it looks corny as hell! I might still see it so that I can compare it to Snow White and the Huntsman which comes out later in the year.
21 Jump Street
This movie actually looks pretty funny. I think that Channing Tatum is much better in his comedic roles than his dramatic ones. Plus...I read somewhere that Johnny Depp is going to have a cameo!!
The Hunger Games
I'm really not a fan of YA novels, but from what I've read about this movie it seems like an interesting story. A part of me is curious and wants to read the books, but another part of me just wants to wait to see the movie so that I can be surprised.
Wrath of the Titans
While I am still irked that they replaced Alexa Davalos as Andromeda, I am curious to see this movie. It actually looks pretty cool, and I'm always up for seeing Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes!
I am a huge fan of the original John Carpenter film with Kurt Russell. It is one of my favorite movies, so at first I was pissed when I heard about a prequel being made. I am still really curious to see this movie though. The trailer actually looks pretty cool, and I am curious about if they are going to use practical effects like the original, or just shit it all up with some cheesy CGI. In my opinion, if a creature is CGI, it is not scary. Like in the movie The Mist, when there are all those CGI tentacles coming under the garage door, I just thought that it looked corny, and not creepy at all. Anyways, I am looking forward to October so I can see this movie.
I finally saw the trailer for this today and it looks amazing! The fact that it is a Cronenberg film alone is enough to make me want to see it, but it is also filled with actors that I just love! Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, AND Vincent Cassel!! Brilliant! Also, who would have thought that a movie about Sigmund Freud would look so sexy?!?
No movie coming out this year looks as cool and amazing as David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I read this book last summer and loved it to death, so I am just super excited for this film. I have to wait 6 months, but I have a feeling that it will be worth it. Fincher was a great choice for director, it has an amazing cast, and one of the coolest movie trailers I have ever seen (that has a kick ass song.) I thought that the Swedish version was good, and Noomi Rapace was great as Lisbeth Salander, but those films just werent as great as they could have been. I think that Fincher's film version are going to be mindblowing.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! This movie is going to be so amazing!!!! I was checking my Twitter on my phone a second ago and the very first thing I saw was something about a Girl With The Dragon Tattoo teaser trailer, so I went running back to my computer!!!! It looks so awesome! I can not wait until December!
This is a movie that I want to see simply because of its great cast. Sarah Silverman, Rainn Wilson, AND Michael C. Hall? Perfection! I am a huge fan of all three actors. I love The Office, I love Dexter, and my roommates and I are seeing Sarah Silverman's stand-up show in a few weeks. All I had to do was look at the cast list to know that this movie was going to be awesome. The trailer doesn't disappoint either. This movie looks really funny and interesting, and the I'm liking the rest of the cast too.

When is this movie ever going to come out? As far as I know this movie still does not have a release date here in the U.S. This is a movie that I have been waiting to come out for forever because I love Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington and Eva Mendes, and I thought that it seemed like an interesting movie filled with absolutely gorgeous people. Finally there is a trailer for this movie (that says coming soon at the end instead of a date...grrrr) and it does look pretty intriguing to me. I'm really pleased that all of the actors have their normal accents in this movie. Relationship dramas aren't really my thing, but you know what I will admit that I want to see this for purely superficial reasons. Sam Worthington is SEXY! He says the very first thing in the trailer, and with his Australian accent too, so I'm like DAAAAMN! Anyways, Worthington's sexiness aside, this movie looks like something I might enjoy seeing and I think that both Keira and Eva are good matches for him....
This movie looks so cool! I was kind of skeptical about his movie when I first read that it was being made because I didn't think that they would pick good people to play younger versions of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, but I think that they did an amazing job casting this movie. James McAvoy was a great choice as young Professor X, but I really love Michael Fassbender as young Magneto.
One thing that kind of bugs me is that there is a bit of a continuity error with the other films. A younger actress than January Jones plays Emma Frost in X-Men Origins: Wolverine even though that movie takes place a few decades after this movie. I'm guessing that they don't really care, or just don't think that people will notice. Its not really that big of a deal because Emma Frost wasn't a major character in that movie, but was there nevertheless.... Anyways, besides that this movie looks really cool. I'm loving Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and whatever character Zoe Kravitz plays...
Today is the first day of December, which means that the end of 2010 is approaching. There are lots of really cool-looking movies coming out in 2011, and here are the ones that I am the most excited for....
JANUARY:
The Green Hornet comes out on January 14th. I had a hard time picturing Seth Rogan as a superhero, but after seeing the trailer this movie actually looks pretty good. Plus, Christoph Waltz is the villian, and we know from Inglourious Basterds that he makes an excellent bad guy...
I adore Guillermo del Toro movies, and while he did not direct this, he wrote the screenplay, so it should be amazing. Plus, both times I watched the trailer, it scared the hell out of me and actually made me scream. The first time I saw it was on Youtube, but the second time was in the theater and I actually covered my eyes like a five year old because I knew what was coming....and I still screamed...
FEBRUARY: Interestingly, there are no movies coming out in February that I really want to see...
MARCH:
This movie actually looks really good. I thought that it was just going to be another British romance movie like Pride and Prejudice, but there are parts in the trailer that look sort of creepy. Plus, I think that Michael Fassbender (from 300 and Inglourious Basterds) is quite handsome...
Red Riding Hood definitely gets my vote for the coolest looking poster of all the 2011 movies. I was actually excited for this movie since I first read that it was being made. I'm a sucker for werewolf movies (though nothing will ever beat An American Werewolf in London), and I've always liked the Little Red Riding Hood story. Plus, this movie has a great cast with Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Julie Christie, and Virginia Madsen. I'll forgive the "director of Twilight" thing at the top of the poster because I've like Catherine Hardwicke's other movies.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! Anyone who has ever seen my blog before should know that I am extremely excited for this movie. I am totally gonna shell out $20 or how ever much it costs to go see this movie in IMAX! If I was only allowed to see one movie for the entire year of 2011, I would definitely choose to see Sucker Punch!!! March 25th, 2011: I've had that date written in my planner for months! APRIL:
Rainn Wilson as a superhero? YES PLEASE! I thought that this movie was going to be straight up comedy, but I've seen clips of this movie, and its kind of like Kiss Ass. By that I mean that it combines comedy with ultraviolence. I thought that this movie sounded cool when I was first reading about it because it has people I really love like Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Michael Rooker, and Nathan Fillion (yes!), but after seeing this clip, my mouth literally dropped open after he hit the guy in the face. I was quite shocked....this movie looks AWESOME!
What a great cast! Danny McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman, AND Zooey Deschanel. To be honest, this movie looks kind of rediculous, but I'm totally going to go see it anyway. From the trailer it looks pretty funny, and I'll pretty much see anything with James Franco in it.... WARNING: This is the red band trailer...
At first I thought that making a 4th Scream movie was a really dumb idea because Scream 3 was kind of shitty, but now I'm pretty excited for this movie. The ghostface mask has been parodied so many times, and has been worn by every single kid on Halloween, so I'm curious if it can still be scary.
MAY:
This is the first of the Marvel Studios movies coming out in 2011 that lead up to The Avengers movie coming out in 2012. I'm not really sure what to think of this movie after seeing the trailer, but I still plan on seeing it because I like Natalie Portman and I think that Chris Hemsworth will make a good Thor.
In my opinion, the Pirates of the Carribean movies kept getting worse and worse, but perhaps this one will be better... Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner won't be in this one, but are being replaced by Ian McShane as Blackbeard (excellent choice), and Penelope Cruz as Blackbeard's daughter Angelica. I was really suprised when I heard that Penelope Cruz was going to be in this movie, but I bet she'll make a good swashbuckler...
I really liked The Hangover, so I'm super excited about its sequel that comes out on May 26th. Apparently in this movie the four guys are heading to Thailand for Stu's wedding. I also read that there will be a cameo by Liam Neeson, which should be interesting....
JUNE:
X-Men: First Class comes out on June 3rd, and I haven't seen any pictures from it yet, nor do I believe that there is a trailer. This movie is about Professor X (played by James McAvoy) and Magneto (played by Michael Fassbender) in their younger years. I think that the casting for the two main characters is perfect, and I am really excited to see the trailer for this movie whenever it comes out....
Here's the second of the 2011 Marvel Studios movies. I don't really know all that much about The Green Lantern, but after watching the trailer I have to say that this movie looks pretty cool!
JULY:
Captain America is the third and final Marvel Studios film to come out before the big Avengers movie that comes out in 2012. Some people don't like the idea that Chris Evans is both The Human Torch and Captain America, but I was not a big fan of the Fantastic Four movies, so I think that he'll be better as Captain America.
OMG!!! This movie is going to be fucking fantastic!!! Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford as cowboys that have to fight aliens that land on Earth??? I don't know who the fuck thought of that but I'm really glad that they did....I just love it because at first it seems like some normal western and then all of a sudden this giant ass spaceship comes out of nowhere...BRILLIANT!
There you have it...now you can see where my money will be going in 2011....

Little Red Riding Hood. Werewolves. Gary Oldman. YES PLEASE! This movie looks really cool! I've been waiting forever for the trailer for this movie, and I just saw it for the first time like two minutes ago. I think that it looks like a really cool twist on the Little Red Riding Hood story, and has a really interesting cast. People have been comparing this to Twilight because it has the same director, but I think that this actually looks like a good movie. Plus, how awesome is that poster? I kinda want to get that and hang it up in my room...
I have never read this book, but I intend on reading it before this movie comes out. I have wanted to see this movie since I saw the cast for it because I like Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender, Judi Dench, and Jamie Bell, and now that I've seen the trailer I think that it looks really good. I am not too familiar with the story, so I thought that it was going to be more of a love story like Pride and Prejudice, but from the trailer I see that there are some darker elements to the story as well. This movie doesn't come out until March, so I have about four months to read the book, which is plenty of time. March is going to be a great month for movies because theres Jane Eyre, Sucker Punch, and Red Riding Hood; all movies that I really want to see.
Because this movie is rated NC-17 I probably won't be able to see it in the theater that I usually go to, but I think that it'll be worth paying a little extra to go see it at a different theater. This movie features two actors that I really like, Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, and the trailer is really cute. From what I've read about the film's synopsis, it sort of sounds like 500 Days of Summer and Peter and Vandy because it cross-cuts through time periods, showing the relationship of a married couple. I really liked both those movies, and they were really different from eachother even though they had a similar plot structure. I'm sure that this movie won't be anything like either of them storywise, and that the only thing it will have in common with those two is the cross-cutting through time element. From what I've read, this movie got an NC-17 due to an intense and emotional sex scene between the two main characters, and that the Weinstein Company is appealing the rating and trying to get an R without cutting anything out.I hope that they get it, because even though I don't see anything wrong with a NC-17 rating, it usually means that less people will be able to see it, which would be unfortunate because this movie looks really good.
To be honest, if this movie had any two other lead actors I probably wouldn't be nearly as interested. However, the universe must have been reading my mind by placing these two together, because Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie are the two actors who I would pretty much watch in anything. I was so excited when I first read that they were going to be in a movie together, and having watched the trailer, it actually looks pretty interesting.
This will be the first Saw movie I have ever seen in theaters. Up until a few months ago, the only one I had seen was the first one because I though all of the sequels looked really stupid. The only reason I did see the sequels was because my sister bought a dvd pack of all 6 Saw movies and we watched them all within a one week span. While they may not be the best movies in the world, I have to admit they are entertaining. So, even though the main reason I want to see this movie is because newly crowned Scream Queen Gabby West will be in it, I am also a little curious about what happens next in the story. Also, I want to find out if I can watch what is sure to be an ultraviolent movie in 3D without having a panic attack. I remember I saw this Terminator movie in 3D at Universal Studios when I was really little and I couldn't even look at the screen I was so scared. Of course, it has been over 10 years since then, probably like 13 or 14 years, but I'm still curious as to how I'll react.
